Former journalist Jo Cooper is celebrating ten years as a volunteer for North Cotswold Foodbank.
“I’d written about Trussell Trust (which set up food banks) many times as part of my job, so when the opportunity to join a food bank on my doorstep in Bourton came along in 2016, I didn’t hesitate,” she said.
She went on to become the Outlet Lead in Bourton and served on the charity’s board of trustees for a few years. “North Cotswold Foodbank is a big part of my life,” she said. “I truly believe that we help people to get back on their feet by providing food and moral support as well as Citizens Advice. Times are tough but hopefully we make a difference.”
Food bank Manager Kevin Carden thanked Jo for her hard work. “We are run almost entirely by volunteers who give up hours of their time each week to make sure people don’t go hungry. Jo has been brilliant – always there when you need her and never saying ‘no’ to a challenge.”
