Due to the amazing response we have had from Harvest Festival, the Tesco Collection and other large food donations in the run up to Christmas, our store is now full and we have no more room at the inn!
We’re extremely grateful for all the donations we have received, which will make a huge difference to many people and families this Christmas. Unfortunately, we have nowhere to safely store more food until we have made up and distributed all our Christmas emergency food parcels and special hampers so we are kindly requesting that further food donations be delayed until next year. Financial donations are always welcome as these underpin the activities of the Foodbank – you can donate via our website here.
Kevin Carden, the Foodbank manager, said: “I want to say a huge thank you to everyone out there who donated this year. Without the fantastic generosity of our local communities many families would go hungry this Christmas. The store is now full to overflowing and we are therefore in the unusual position of asking people if they could either make a financial donation or delay donating food until next year and then check the shopping list on our website to see what we are short of as we start to use up the stock.”
